What happened
Confia grew out of Guilherme Mendes’s personal experience with anxiety and panic attacks. Having never programmed before, he taught himself and built a wellbeing and emotional self-awareness app designed to organise everyday signals.
The app lets users do check-ins, record their emotional state and combine that information with sleep, food, exercise and habits. It then presents patterns in a Personal Map, offers gradual goals for harder days and includes an SOS button with a short breathing exercise.
There is also a community area for sharing between users. According to the creator, the observations are meant only for reflection, and the app is not intended to diagnose or replace health professionals. The app is free, available on Google Play and has already passed one thousand downloads.
